Welcome to the Career Center at the Somerset County Educational Services Commission.
The Career Center was established with the vision of providing Special Education students, grades 9-12+, the opportunity to learn skills and gain experiences that will prepare them to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive workplace.
The Career Center has a hybrid curriculum and collaborative learning environment that meets the unique learning challenges of many students. The Career Center has four shops: Supermarket Careers, Graphic Arts & Design, Power Engine Technology, and Life Skills. The students who attend Career Center receive specialized training in their respective shop area. The New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) are embedded within all four of our career programs serving the social, emotional, academic, and employment education needs of each student. It is the goal of the Career Center to prepare students to be successful candidates for employment, and successful, producutive members of our society.
The Somerset County Educational Services Commission is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
