Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Ivelisse Berges. I am a Special Education teacher and have been working at the SCESC for 20 years. I have many years of experience teaching in our high school setting, and presently I work with students, grades 6-8, classified with behavioral disabilities.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, with a concentration in Psychology, from Rutgers University. My Master’s Degree in education was earned through Marygrove College, with a focus on behavior modification. My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, tapping into students’ strengths and talents and sharing my love for learning.
I hold high expectations and standards for students and I believe in a consistent, positive and respectful approach to making lasting, meaningful behavior changes. I am thrilled to be part of the SCESC community and I am committed to ensuring students reach their full potential.
