Miniature horses Michelangelo, a small brown horse with beautiful brown eyes who will be 3 years old in a few weeks, and Raphael, a smaller brown and white paint horse with blue eyes who will be 1 soon came to the SCESC Academies today to visit with the students. The horses are part of a therapeutic animal program and live at Hope's Promise Farm in Chester, New Jersey.
The program's Executive Director and P.A.T.H. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) and International Certified Riding Instructor Maureen Coultas introduced the horses to the children and spoke of how the horses visit with schools, nursing homes and hospitals to brighten the resident's days. Ms. Coultas answered many questions from the students and at the end of the program the students were able to pet the mini-horses.
Thank you Raphael and Michelangelo for bringing a smile to our faces.
